Outreach & Development Manager

Outreach & Development Manager Hope Connections for Cancer Support is an independent, community-based nonprofit organization, founded in 2005, that helps people with cancer and their loved ones deal with the emotional and physical impact of cancer through professionally facilitated programs of emotional support, education, wellness, and hope.
All programs are donor supported and provided free of charge to those affected by cancer.
We have two locations, one in Bethesda, Montgomery County and in Landover, Prince George's County.
We are seeking an outgoing individual with fresh, creative ideas and a passion for community outreach and fundraising.
The applicant will have a primary focus on outreach and development for Prince George's County but will also play a key role in the overall growth of Hope Connections as part of the development team.
This important leadership role will foster partnerships with local governments, community organizations, faith-based organizations, and potential participants.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys autonomy and can also work well on a team.

Responsibilities:
In Prince George's County:
Lead efforts to increase awareness and knowledge of Hope Connections' programs and services within Prince George's County including cultivation and nurture of relationships with current participants, corporate, foundation, and government sponsors, and individual donors.
Lead efforts to build the Prince Georges County participant base for Hope Connections services Develop plan and lead efforts for event driven fundraising.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with prospects through thoughtful cultivation and stewardship (face-to-face meetings, correspondence, phone contact).
Anchor Prince Georges County based office functions Development Team role:
Provide research to help develop a pipeline of qualified funder prospects; analyze program interests, grant procedures and past charitable donations to support comprehensive solicitation plans.
Work with leadership to obtain current project information and to create offers and proposals that are used to secure funding.
Support management of reports for grants and funding compliance.
Ensure the proper administration and stewardship of funds and gifts.
Ensure that all written materials best reflect Hope Connections work, brand, and strategic vision while aligning with the funder's interest.
Maintain benchmarking, gift analysis, and other development performance analytical reports Work with the Development Director, President & CEO, Board and the appropriate Board committees, staff, and volunteers to further fundraising objectives.
Education:
Bachelor's degree (minimum)
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of non-profit fundraising experience or equivalent including grant writing experience.
Corporate and Individual donor cultivation.
Government cultivation is a plus.
Strong partnership-building and event planning skills.
Proven track record of achieving revenue targets of over $100,000 annually.
Entrepreneurial with the ability to be adaptable and change plans Proven management and leadership capabilities.
Strong background in cultivating relationships and strong networking skills.
Background in working for a community-focused organization Can work independently and manage multiple deadlines Strong verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically with understanding of strategic development.
Good computer skills and knowledge of data base programs.
Experience working with Senior Level executives in a corporate environment.
The individual hired will be required to sign a confidentiality and non-compete agreement.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
