Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions. In this position, you will perform emergency management work including the oversight, management, and coordination with other entities to effect the recovery of impacted survivors during federally declared disaster operations. Typical assignments include:
Analyzing resource requirements, and capabilities to enable program delivery and performance. Evaluating and producing recommendations regarding effectiveness and/or efficiency issues and the evaluation of major administrative aspects of disaster recovery programs. Providing coordination and assistance to major activities to ensure the capability to continue essential disaster recovery functions during any event or incident. Performing substantive work and provides expert advice on complex recovery issues to high-ranking and professional Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) staff in the headquarters, Regional Officers, Joint Field Offices/Joint Recovery Offices (JFO/JRO) and emergency management partners engaged in supporting disaster recovery for communities and individuals. Identifies and reports relevant caller services and case processing quality control issues Directing the monitoring, reviewing and evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of national call center operations in serving disaster survivors. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.The qualification requirements listed below must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. You qualify for this position at the GS-13 level (starting salary $98,336 Denton, TX or $102,663, Hyattsville, MD) if you possess the following:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Leading or supervising a team within a large Call Center workforce on a myriad of issues and concerns, as well as, developing ways that increase staff performance, improve work procedures and promote a high-functioning call/contact center operation working on disaster-related activities; AND Leading studies, analyzing organizational/operational problems, and implementing emergency management related directives, regulations, policies or procedures; AND Performing as a spokesperson and/or expert and providing advice on contentious issues that surround disaster survivor issues or to acquire compliance with policy, statutes or regulation; AND Facilitating problem solving, providing access to resources, and providing advice to senior level staff. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. NOTE:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
